a friend just bought a M2 2002 it has a stabilizer that mounts to outside the primary side of swingarm & runs to the frame. anyone know who makes them? or what they are called. to me looks like a good idea as would stop side to side swingarm rubber mount movement. hope someone knows. | ||

Wha? that sounds very silly, and non-functional... Its not lateral forces that change on the swing arm. Its Torsional... or Axial... depending on which way you want to look at it. | ||

Eitherway... to add on to what I said... A proper way to do this is motor mount stiffeners. Basically 1" pucks of aluminum that slide inside the motormount and dont let it flex at all. It also makes the bike ride like solid motor mounts. I have them on my bike, and 2 hours is the longest I can ride any sort of highway distance without having to get off. (S1 solo seat though... but its the foot pegs that end up killing me.) | ||

Well it's a long story, but i think i must not have 10/10 eye sight LOL. the Buell my friend got it solid the rear shock replaced with a strut & that has lowered the bike, the front forks are strapped down to compress them in. its for drag racing. the primary side rear foot peg seems to be used as a brace the foot peg removed & a bolt goes through swingarm. I think solid mounting motor would eventually start making things vibrate loose more offten & give you more vibration through bars. but i'm sure it works. i think my 2000 M2 just has one top stabilizer, do the later 2002 have an additional stabilizer? thanks i'm still learning about my buell, but love it! |
