I get my jollies out of my my X1, but when I bought it used there is the racing ecm ... and the power commander 3 on the bike which is ok with but I can't get the ecm spy to recognize the bike. Does any body know if the combination will cause a conflict? All I want to do is a tps reset, not to mention I think I'm not at my top performance.

Have any idea why someone(previous owner) would have put it on?

"Have any idea why someone(previous owner) would have put it on?"

Most likely because it was the only tuning aid available before EcmSpy was developed.

I bought a Dobeck Techlusion unit before I had a computer, used it for a few hundred miles and gave up frustrated as the bike would never run the same twice.

It may not be the power commander. A lot of people don't realize that in order for ecm spy to work you need to have the drivers installed that make the communication happen between pc and cable. If you open up the tuning guide there is a link to get the drivers off some website.

I have seen more than my share of Power Commanders CORRUPT ecm's.
If you have a race ecm why would you really need to piggy back a P/C to it.
Most buells I have ridden run pretty strong with a race ecm.
Ditch the power commander and sell it on flea-bay
