Started for 2 days fine now push the start button and all you get is a click if you hit it repeatedly fast it will go? Any sugestions it has a new key ingnition also | ||

i'm not an expert but i would suspect the start switch or starter. clean the switch with contact cleaner and make sure it has a clean connection. there might be a way to bypass the start button for starting purposes only to rule out the starter | ||

Machine-gun "ratatatatat" noises are usually a low or weak battery condition. Put a voltmeter on the battery sitting idle, see what it says. Then, hit the start button and see where it goes. If it reads low to begin with, charge it and try again. If it reads "OK" to begin with but plummets when you hit the start button, it's weak on amperage and should be replaced. | ||

Check your ground. Do a negative voltage drop test. You shouldn't drop more than a volt, if you do you've found your problem. | ||

S1. check terminals check ground strap * starter conns check voltage at rest and at start attempt I had a loose terminal cause a no start in down town Chicago bike ran fine other wise and battery was ok | ||

It may also be your starter relay sticking. | ||

Ok guys thanks alot for all the info! I was confident in all my grounds and connection but checked them first and they are fine so i went to the next simple thing the relay! I happen to have another relay so i plugged it in and wham it fired right up! |
