my battery has been losing charge lately and not wanting to start. sometime right after riding i will kill the bike and 5 min later the battery will be dead. so i bought a new battery and rode with no problems the next day it started fine but as i was riding my gauges started to go crazy and eventually when off, when i stop the bike wouldn't start.

I can head it clicking at the fuse box in the back but get nothing, lights seem to work but could be they don't require much.

could this be my stator? or something else?

i check all the wires and they seem to be fine.

any suggestions or help would be awesome.

Thanks,
Anthony

ok after referring my manual and locating the stator plug in location i thought i might check and see if perhaps it just came unplug. it wasing

However i did notice the wires from my voltage regulator have been split in half!

im going to attempt to rewire it but in case i cannot can someone refer me to an aftermarket suggestion or with a part number.

im also going to check the thread below about another bueller with regulator issues.

Easiest test for a bad stator is to open the primary inspection cover and give it a sniff.
If it smells like burning diapers/gym socks, yes stator is fried.

Beyond that, you will need a voltmeter.

I am the one below that is having the exact same problems that you are explaining. I went to Lowes and bought a $20 electrical multimeter and went through most of the tests that the service manual has. I believe my issue to be the voltage regulator. I am going to buy a new one and hopefully that will fix my problem. I do not have my parts book with me at work but I can post what the part number is later.
