So I stopped by a friend's before a ride earlier and he noticed something weird in my headlight. It looks to me like the reflector mirror that goes in front of the bulb fell off and is clunking around in there. I looked in the manual and it looks like the headlight is sealed and can't be opened up.. Is there a way to get it re-attached or will I be shopping for a new headlight? - if so, is there a cheaper option than the HURR 200 DOLLAR H-D HEADLIGHT i was quoted? |

1. What bike? 2. The minireflector is only to keep the bulb from being directly viewed from oncoming traffic, and to help focus the light pattern by eliminating light coming directly from the bulb. With the minireflector in front, ALL the light is bounced back and run through the main reflector, giving the designers better control over light output. 3. Measure your light, and go to autoanything.com. Chances are if it is a sealed beam light, you can get a better Hella setup with a replaceable bulb. But, if it's the X1 in your profile...you should already have a replaceable bulb. Pull the bulb, take the light off the bike, shake it till the minireflector falls out the back, put the bulb back in, and ride. |

My 97 S1 has a Bosch light assembly, that has little clips that hold it together, you could take the lens off of it. |

Looked a little closer at it today - the reflector is way bigger than the hole for the bulb.. If I really can get the beemer headlamp for that cheap I might as well go that route. |

WOOOOWW ok just had an overwhelming case of stupid - didn't know I could separate the glass from the reflector lens.. Got the cone reflector re-attached and the lamp back together. Moving on to more important things.... |
