Hello Everyone! I lost one of my fuel tank emblems that say " American Motorcycles". Dang thing came unglued on a ride recently. I should have re-glued it when I had a chance. It is the raised type emblem with clear plastic over the letters. Anyone out there have one, or know of someone, or where I may get just that one emblem? I will appreciate any help on this. |

The tank decals are still available from the dealers at a reasonable price. Hopefully someone here has an extra they can just send you. I have a bag of tank letters but the American Motorcycles went on my XB since for some reason Buell/HD left that part off on some of the late models. I can get you a PN# in the morning if you still need it. |

According to the parts guy at my local stealership... none of the decals i had him lookup were available! But they could care less about Buells, and are overall pretty lame! If somebody at a dealer could see what is out there i would appreciate it too. |

You have a point there Tbolt98: I think H-D dealers could not care less about helping a Buell guy. They just want to sell stuff for the late model H-Ds... Go in with a Buell question, and they look at you like you are strange, in most cases... |

If you don't have your heart set on the stock lettering you could find a local sign shop to make you a vinyl decal in the proper font and just replace the lettering. I had the "American Motorcycles" text done for me in a sort of script font and layered it over the standard style bold "Buell" lettering. Looking at it now I would have preferred to place the letters still over the Buell text but at about 1/16th above the bottom edge.
I applied these decals in '05 or '06 and they are holding up great. Anyway I'll post the PN# up in the morning and you can just check with whichever of our dealership sponsors you'd like to order from and see what they can do for you: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/17143/17143.html?1334333739 Al at American Sport Bike gets parts from a dealer at the market rate and sells them to us so we can skip the dealership interface entirely if we want, at least for the stuff he's willing to order. Bumpus HD (TN), Latus HD (WA or OR) and a few others are pretty good to deal with. I'm sure there are others closer to you that are Buell friendly, it seems like Liberty is another decent one. |

White 3D lettering from my 02 parts manual is M0777.K Chrome 3D M0776.K, these are the with the bar style American Motorcycles footer. There is also a White 3D listed as a "cradle" that has the trimmed ellipse with a background image of the Pegasus for the American Motorcycles text, that one is pn# M0776.01A3. I is possible any and all of these have been superseded by new pn's but it will at least give you a place to start when you ask for the tank decals.
