So as I am slowly working through my bike for the spring cleanup I found something I know I did not want to find.

Back in 2006 I went off the track (Blackhawk farms trackday) with my bike at about 85 mph. The bike flipped about 3 times end over end. I did get the bike back together later that year and have since put about 10,000 miles on it. However, I found the "hole" last night for the first time. It is located on the front of the case and the bolt is the bottom bolt for the shock mount. I know it is not good, but I am wondering if it is bad enough to shelf the bike until I can find a new crankcase or if I could even fix this one?

Also, if I am looking at a new crankcase, what are my options? I know sportster crankcases are available pretty cheap, but I thought there was an issue with mounting the swingarm? I have a 2002 M2.

Is it puking oil? If not JB Weld and ride it!
And like LaFayette says, any decent welder can fix that.

Well, it was puking oil, but I believe it was from the Oil Sensor which was a bit loose. I will keep an eye on it and i do know a great welder, i wish I had the piece that busted off though, it would have made the repair easier!

New cases from HD will run you about $900.

Well, if I have to go that route, I am going to rebuild with a 88" kit.
