These are so cheap now! Makes me wonder if the market for these bikes was completely overestimated? Or worse now that Buell was shuttered? The M2 gets no respect. I am nonplussed as to why.
Has to be the best bargain out there, for those who know...

It's not a Buell thing, it's a "toys in an recession" thing, and a "so many really good motorcycles these days" things.

I've walked away or missed the following four bikes in the last few months...

1970's BMW R65 with 60k miles for under $3k
1980's nighthawk S with bad starter $250
2000's BMW GSA with 100k (but lots of expensive things already replaced) $2k

The only one I am really bumming about is the nighthawk for $250. I actually hate inline fours, but for that price and that bike I would have fixed it, ridden it for the summer, and flipped it for a profit.

I have friends and family that are riders, but that don't have the time and money to maintain a bike anymore. I want an M2 in the garage I can hand to anyone I think is capable of riding it for a weekend or a road trip.

Wow, good price.
I sold my 1125CR and have been scouring all the online ads for 2001/2002 M2/M2L/S3T and I'm not seeing any asking prices less than 4K.
Hoping a yellow Cyclone falls in my lap, but blue/black/gray will do.

I recently picked up the twin to that one, but mine is a 99 and it has a chin spoiler...about the same mileage too.

I paid 1900 but it came with a brand new dainese leather jacket that I was able to sell on craigslist for $300, so I just barely beat ya : )

When I found this one he wasn't advertising it. I just so happen to be working at the neighbors house when I saw it under the barn. Went to look at it and he came out and said it was for sale. So, I was real lucky in that respect.

Cupcake, I didn't mention that it came with the manual and a Vance & Hines pipe. Not sure how much those are worth, but the manual for my XB12R was something like 90 bucks. LOL. You may still have me beat!!

Boatz, here's a yellow one down in sunny San Francisco, $3200, but I'm sure he will negotiate, it's been listed month or two:http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/mcy/2932764822.htm l

I'd buy it as a 'spare', but want to stay married...

Boatz for some reason bikes up here in the pacific northwest seem to be holding there value better than other parts of the country, you may have to expand your search area by a couple of states. It doesn't make sense considering the economy but it is what it is.
