I just acquired a chase harper stealth tank bag for my 2000 M2. I don't have any instructions so I installed it the way I think it should be. Fits great and works great. My question is about what to do with the front strap when I un-clip and remove the bag and want to ride without the bag? Do I just leave it hanging in the wind? The rear strap can be folded backwards and hidden under the front of the seat. Anybody have a set of instructions they can send me? Also have the saddlebags too. Stupid question. Which end goes forward? Thicker flat end or thinner rounded end? Thanks |

If the clips have straps long enough, try routing them forward and down between the frame tubes on each side of the steering neck. They're fairly unnoticeable there and will stay put. Re saddlebags, I put the bigger end forward. |

What about that big foam piece that is between the front straps and protects the tank from being scratched by the tank clips. It's pretty big and there doesn't seem to be room to tuck it away. Are you using that piece? I'll try to post picture tonight so it makes sense. Regarding the saddlebags. The bigger end forward seems to be the only way that will allow some room for the passenger to maybe be able to put feet on the rear pegs. However, it seems like there might only be room for them to place their heels on the pegs which will no doubt interfere with my heels as I like to have the ball of my feet on the front pegs. The Chase Harper web site shows a line drawing of the saddlebags that actually seems to indicate that the round pointy part is supposed to be the front. It has the webbing loop labeled as "Front frame mount" but the webbing loop pictured is on the small pointy end of the bag. I think their diagram is incorrect. Thanks for the reply Sparky. Have you done two-up riding with the saddlebags attached? |

So the front tank bag straps along with the foam pad can be stuffed in between the frame tubes as suggested as long as I fold the foam pad in half. I wonder how it will hold up to the heat being that close to the front cylinder. Thanks for the suggestion. |

"Have you done two-up riding with the saddlebags attached?" Yes. I just had to rearrange things to locate the saddlebags a little more rearward on the Firebolt so my wife could use the footpegs with no interference. |
