I upgraded my 96 S1 to the new style XB shifter from American Sport Bike I used to have the stamped boomerang style. My question is now what rear brake lever can I use will an xb on work I do not want the cast shifter and the stamped brake ?

Try an X1 brake maybe? Not sure if the angles will be right on an XB setup.
