anybody have one of these? If so please let me know how you like it. My stock shifter just broke. Seems parts are not available, have to buy the whole assembly. I am thinking of buying something different all together in this case. I know banke is popular but a bit pricey since they have to be custom ordered now. Any on the billet 2 race shifter assembly would be much appreciated.

The 2001 'updated' X1 shifter kit is still available at that Indiana place; Buellparts dot net, still $148. Look under X1 controls.

Thanks all. I decided to take the plunge and have Banke make me one. In case anyone needs the stock one you can order right from any HD dealership.

Hey Chad, how much will the Banke setup set you back? I've been considering giving them a call to make up a shifter and brake for my '01 S3.

From an email I received from James Banke:
The SKA03 or SKA23 shifters will work on the M2. The SKA03 goes for about $420 depending on finish and styling options. The SKA23 is about $400 also depending on finish and styling options. Finishes offered are tumbled, polished, grained or powder coated. Styling options are square cut-outs, like on the website, lighting holes, plain or whatever the customer wants.

Thanks for the info Scott! I do miss the Banke shifter I had on my old tuber, but I'm not sure I miss it $400 worth. The full Free Spirits rearsets aren't much more than that.

If only I could convince a few dozen other buyers to get on board to make the initial setup worth Mr. Banke's time!

Yep. Too rich for my blood. I ended up getting the 01 kit from americansportbike.com instead to replace to boomerang.

Got the Banke shifter, these are awesome!Correct in that it is about $440. But couple of things to think about, 1) it is way better than the stock shifter (no comparison) 2) Ole James Banke will support the shifter with parts if you need them in the future. You buy stock shifter and some thing breaks, you get to buy another whole stock shift assembly for $150

Billet2Race shifter...Wow. Terrible customer service, I mean BAD...Product looks decent and works good so far..Its stuck in reverse pattern- of course no instructions, anyone know how to change it back?

So here is my story---
Had an accident with my bike, decided to upgrade to the B2R shifter. Ordered the polished verison. Took almost a week to ship to me, get the product with no instructions and an unpolished shifter with major nicks and scratches(ordered the polished one). Contacted them, weeks go by, no emails or answering their calls. Finally, get an email that the owner lady had a major car accident and to call her cell. No problem. I ask her to send a return label and get this fixed for me, she said she does not know how to but will send a polished one to the Harley Dealer and to return the wrong one and will give me a clutch inspection cover for my troubles and shipping costs. Great no problem....

2 weeks pass, no shifter to the Harley dealer. Wont return calls/emails. Finally get though to them via eBay. The man tells me they sold out of shifters and to send the bad one back and he will polish it. I told him the dealer is pist, I've waited a month since my original purchase and I need this part now. Cops an attitude, says they never planned on sending since they needed the money to liquidate their stock for the medical bills. Great, now they are liars with a terrible attitude. Threatens me if I call the CC company that he will press charges even though he expects me to be stuck with a shifter that needs repairs.

So had to get it polished myself, pay harley an extra 1/2 hour labor to figure out how to install shifter with no directions and had to call the credit card company.

Billet 2 Race SUCKS!
