I like the exhaust but that front mount where the elbow bolts to the bike looks weak to me. I had a similar mount on my Wiley Co years ago and it snapped in half after a year. They then upgraded to a much better set up (which they sent me for free) that I have used for 8 years now without a problem.

here is a link to the string with the pictures

here is a picture of the pipe

here is the whole package I got

That said, eventually the front plate on the canister vibrated enough to break the weld and I no longer use the canister. I have replaced it with a automotive steel glass pack while searching for a new exhaust. I am sharing this info with you in hopes that your system may be the one I put on my bike next!

What you see is a prototype, in the final version all material is much more solid. We have a 2 year full warranty Unlimmited miles. Me make more muflers for years now for Buell, Sportster and XR1200 i promise you the front mount (i think you mean the plate with th ebolts) is not the problem and it doesnt mount to the muffler (it centers the elbow pipe to the exhaust muffler) (-;

I like your hook up with the springs much better for attaching the canister to the elbow. I simply wanted to express the idea that you cannot overbuild the part where the elbow mounts to the engine. I am no engineer, but since the canister mounts to the motor in the back the front is suspect to vibration.

Good luck, I look forward to seeing the final product. In the meantime i will stick to my $20 option of using a heavy steel automotive glasspack.
