I picked up a Buell S2 and it only has one ignition key. I went to the key shop at the local hardware to have a spare made and the guy said it was probably a Harley key so he looked through a half dozen HD blanks and none of them matched. He got out his book and said it might be a Kawasaki blank but when he took the blank down off the pegboard it didn't match either. This doesn't seem like it should be this hard. Can anyone tell me what key blank I need to have a spare key made for my bike? I've ridden Guzzis for the last 28 years and the blank looks kinda like an old Ducati blank, but he didn't have one of those. Any help would be appreciated. I've attached a pic of my current key.

Thank you for the clarification!
That certainly explains the dilemma.
This bike has had some work done to it from previous owners cosmetically so I guess it's not hard to believe someone back in the day changed out the switch. Now to try to figure out where the switch came from.......

American Sport Bike 3 wire ignition switch #16033
$23.99

Replaced my shorting HD switch and it works fine, also came with two keys.
