I got a front isolator kit from Al at American Sport Bike. The instructions call for installing the isolator from the bottom (under the mounting plate) because the neck isn't notched.
My problem is when the motor drops down it contacts the right hand tube that the tie bar bolts to.It won't give enough clearance for the isolator to slot in above the motor mount and below the plate the isolator bolts to.
I don't see any way to get the motor down any further without removing the motor mount and that means getting new motor mount bolts.

The ISOLATOR sits on top of the mounting plate on the frame ...

You will find the the ISOLATOR to MOTOR MOUNT HOLE is SMALLER than the OEM BOLT ...

That means that you have two options: #1 to enlarge the bolt hole in the -79D isolator or #2 to SHIM the bolt isolator HOLE ...

OPTION #1 IMHO is the one to do ...

If you do not do either the smaller bolt in the KIT will STRESS BREAK making thus a "SAFETY ISSUE" !!!

My computer died so "i" am unable to send any HELP "INFO", so PM me with your PHONE number and "i" will talk you thru installation of the isolator ...

The new iso kit does not sit on top of the frame for the older bikes, like the S2's.

Buellish - not sure how to fix you're problem without seeing your bike. I know Spiderman did an install on his S2 with the updated iso, you can try to search for his posts on it.

Bolt kit: http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/A17049-B.html

There is a specific procedure for torquing those bolts, included. Not hard, but necessary to follow.

Al, he's got an S2, so your kit won't fit.

It will fit, it just needs to be mounted on the bottom side of the frame mount.

Black - referring to the bolts Al posted, not the isolator.

Blackm2,I think X11200r is referring to the engine mount to head bolt kit.The S2's have two different size bolts where Al's kit has two bolts of the same size.

DOH!! I knew that...
I'll have to look into adding the S2 kit. I've had no requests for it over the years, probably because the S2 mounts don't break or cause the bolts to break like the other mounts do.

Just another reason why you've gotta LOVE
the S2!!!
