Well I bought a nice used rear stand for the X1 last year, have not had a need to use it. Now I do, need to replace rear tire. I have the dual one that lifts from spool or swingarm. Don't have spools on her. It looks like the belt cover may get in the way, do I remove or place in front of it? Can i do this without assistance, I always work by myself.

You can do it yourself but I believe the belt cover has to come off. I've got the T-rex but they're basically the same design. Just slide it in from behind at an angle, hold the bike upright with the left hand and the stand with the right. You'll have to finagle the right side in between the belt and swingarm but it's not hard. Once both pads are on the swingarm just push it down and the bike will roll right up on it. Easy peasy.

I have my X1 up for the winter on stands right now. I have some black widow stands and also have no spools on it and it works without removing it but it is a tight fit and i took 2 people to get it on the stand without smashing the guard (mine is carbonfiber). Place it in front if you can. It might hit the kickstand a little but it will fit just barely.

Maybe its a different pitbull stand, but mine only works if I lift from near the rear of the swingarm. I typically place the stand so there is barely enough room to get a tool on the axle to remove the wheel; any further forward on the swingarm and the stand isn't "tall" enough to actually lift the bike. And since that lines it up with the rear rotor on one side and the pulley on the other...there's no belt guard to worry about.

Thanks Rat, do you have a picture of the other side? Is the belt guard on?

Belt guard is always on. The stand fits between the swingarm and the lower curve of the guard - the guard stops at the front of the pulley, so there's an open space there. It's a little harder to see because the red protector got ruined, so it's silver duct tape now...

Where do you get those mid-frame crash protectors?...they look like they clamp right on to the frame.

I've got them on my Triumph Speed Triple and they paid for themselves quickly when the bike fell over.

That's a Very nice looking rice burner!
I often wonder why they did away with centre stands! Interestingly the original H1 Mach 111 1969 didn't have an accelerator, they had a trigger.
They didn't call them "The Widow maker" for nothing.
When you pulled out to pass a car you had to be careful not to flip it over backwards, even in top gear, same story cornering.
Fortunately they tuned them down in these later models to make them more manageable but they still have a ton of guts.

Rich ive gotta ask where did you ever find your select seat? Ive got an all black x1 and stumbled onto a yellow one on craigslist. Cant really bring myself to recover it to match my bike cause im sure someone has a yellow x1 looking for the seat.

1250 - It came with the bike. The previous owner set up the X1 pretty good except for the sloppy gasket sealer on the breather bolts.

Are those the American Sport Bike frame sliders on both bikes?
