Ok so what do you guys think of this deal? I talked to mike last night and we may have a deal to trade straight across for my 97 dyna low rider. Pic of mine

http:// http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i362/ian03xl/D SCN0339.jpg

So what do you think is this a bad deal for me? Or a fair deal? My peers and local dealer seem to think my low rider is worth more than the 5k asking price but I'm a little unsure. so be honest tell me if I'm getting screwed or what ever you think.

why not go over and take the bike for a spin? See if you like it, and if you're willing to trade.

if you read the ad. it looks great, but i dont know what you've done to your bike.
make's it kinda hard to tell if it's a fair trade.

i had similiar problem a few months ago, trading my HD shovel for a Buell S1.
made the decission not to trade, but to sell the shovel.
now i got the money in the bank and can always buy an extra Buell if i feel like it.
So if you're not sure about the trade i would say sell the Harley and then buy the Buell and with the extra money take the misses out

KBB on your FXDL is $6600 for an excellent condition bike.

Fact of the market is...used HD's are everywhere right now, and $6k is about the going rate for a used FLHR around here.

If you can get the equivalent of $5k for a used Evo Dyna? Take it and say thank you. Nevermind the fact that it looks like a gorgeous S3.

That said...you might stand a better chance getting $5k for a used HD than for a used Buell should the need arise. So, ride the Buell and see what you think. If you like the ride better, and it is a net-zero cost to you for the swap...go for it.

I know which way I'd go...

Thanks for the posts guys. I already know I like the bike that's not the problem I just can't seem to let it go for 5k when I could get 7k. The fact is I've had it for sale on 3 different Craigslist ads and locally for a couple of months and have only had 1 person contact me and offfer me $4500 so selling is proving to be rather tough. Maybe I should just wait a couple more months and see what happens after income tax season when people have some extra cash to spend.

After reading the motor description
I would question if I wanted a possible
problem child, Racing = disposable
lots of racing type mods,
the problematic inboard cam bearings ?
rebalanced crank & lightened pistons & wrist pins?

the other issue with speed shop work is with out documentation its just the sellers word, we have all seen some pretty egregious exadurations on power or work on these machines..

It sounds intriguing to me.An engine built by a known builder with a nod toward streetability. No big cams,no nitrous,no stretched out swingarm.Lots of stuff I'd
like to do to my S2T but can't due to lack of funds.Headwork, lightning the rotating assembly, balancing and blueprinting.Just a nice ridable bike with a hot motor.

I hear what you're saying oldog I have had the same concerns but,Mike Roland whom is the performance director of kuryaken to me seems like a reputable source that wouldn't go out of his way to trash his own name. Mike is the owner and seller of the bike and has all the documentation on the motor and I spoke with him for about an hour about the motor I'm convinced it's a solid runner and a long lasting build. The bike was a ground up complete rebuild all bearings and rubber components have been replaced and upgraded the weak areas to an improved parts. I don't know maybe I'm just blinded by my own impulsiveness and need to reevaluate the situation. This isn't exactly the bike that I'm looking for by that I mean I wanted a 99-02 s3t mainly for the bags and fuel injection well this bike has been converted to FI and he said he could hook me up with some bags for a s3t that's the only reasons that I'm even considering this option. Although I am a gear head and the engine stuff does stimulate me it's not the ideal situation for the direction I'm going I would be happy with a stock motor I'm looking more for reliability and longevity.

Sounds Like a great bike. You could not duplicate it without spending a bundle. I would go for it.
