Does anybody know where to get a new rubber dragger for the kick stand? 2002 M2 or should I just cut the bracket of the stand ?

Personally, I wouldn't spend money on it.
I always thought it was a silly useless thing.

It is supposed to make the kick stand go back up if you take off with it down. I know there is a side stand safety switch which is supposed to kill the motor if you try. But i have mine disconnected and i did drive off with the kickstand down once and the the rubber thing did nothing to help. I does not work for shit as i pogoed down the street like 5 times.

I don't know about it being used to retract the stand, but what it DOES do is stop the bike from walking downhill when idling on a hill. Without it, my S1 will move backwards when idling, but with it, it doesn't.

I thought at first it was to keep the kickstand from sinking into soft ground. But Court informed me why it was there and according to him that was the purpose of it.

Retracting the stand is what the rubber is for. Keeping Buells from walking away is an added benefit.

You cannot take off with the kickstand down unless you have bypasses the safety switch. The dragger's purpose is to create drag which inhibits walking of the vehicle while idling. That's why they calls it a dragger, and why it is expected to wear.

The purpose of the rubber dragger is not to keep the bike from walking, it is to touch down first and help retract the stand if you ride off with the stand down. Many brands of motorcycle have this feature, not just ones that shake at idle.

It's called a "flipper" and it will "flip" up a side stand that was inadvertently left deployed.

My service manual calls it a dragger.

What it DOES do is stop the kickstand from gouging your swingarm...

Actually there is a small rubber bumper with a stud that screws into a threaded boss that is supposed to serve that purpose.

Just call your dealer (hopefully a Badweb sponsor) and ask about that L0177.9 part number. If they don't have it, ask them to "poll" HDnet to see if any dealer has one in stock.

The triangle and bar, by the way, depict wear limits.

well thats all pretty indefinite and unclear....I do know that on my S1 the rubber thing on the kickstand definitely does not stop my bike from walking away down the driveway while idling...the first time it did it, I thought it was hilarious, now its just a pain.

I cut the bracket off to.
It never stopped the bike from walking, don't know if it would make the kickstand flip up if it was left down?as for it stopping the kickstand rubbing the swingarm if it did that then you have something out of alignment,as it shouldn't make any contact.
The XB,s don't have one,it looks way better without it and is about 60g lighter, not alot but i am trying to shave weight off the bike(6kg so far).

Bought one today, in stock, at White's HD Lebanon PA. The part number on the receipt was 50179-96Y, $10.46. The L0177.9 part number was stamped on the part like the pic above. White's also had the new Buell carbon fiber bike on display for sale, $42,000. It was a work of art to look at.

The one in the picture above doesn't appear to have the hole all the way through. When I bought mine for my 2000 M2 cyclone recently it does have the hole drilled all the way through. Mine was 50179-96Y. Maybe that is the difference?

Also to correct your post above. That's "Erik Buell Racing"
