Didn't want to post this on the Round up thread........

I kept watching the weather channel and saw the nice 70/80 temps in the south. So I loaded up the Road King and headed out. Took me a month ..............went to Bakersfield and cut across AZ.........rode in the dark some at 34 degrees in AZ.........(love the heated gear)...... mostly in the 50/60's crossing NM, TX and OK. Followed back roads a lot, getting on and off 40......... dodged the rain pretty much by changing course as I went.............(gotta love the weather map apps)........Had the forks seals replaced in Fort Smith AK...........(great dealership.....in and out is 3 hours)...... and zig zaged down to 20 and followed it........(getting off/on some back roads along the way to the Atlantic.......turned right and followed the coast to Key West......back to Miami and cut across Florida ......(through the everglades)..........and then up to Naples, FL. Pretty much followed 10 getting off to do some back roads all the way back to AZ. Then took 8 to San Diego and Highway 1 back to the bay area. Had the rear tire replaced in Daytona.......(planned, as I new it would not make the whole trip).......and......a front tire in Lake Charles, LA.......(the dealer has been in the same location since ‘32).........(not planned, probably would have made it, but did not want to be thinking about tire condition on the way home). Both dealers were great........they checked stock and said we can get you right out.......and they did.

Did and saw so many great things...........swam with the Manatees in FL........had a pace car ride around Daytona Speedway.........visited battlegrounds........stayed on Bourbon street...........ate some great southern food......best of all a stellar bike ride.

Frank.....watch out in that snow.......loved riding in it on the dirt bike.....not so sure about pavement.

Buffalo..........did take some pics............should have taken more, but I kept the camera stored most of the time. should get used to carring it under my jacket.

Here’s a few..............

Ice on the seat in Flagstaff, Az............

One of our finest.........Florida

Pace car ride at Daytona.............

Gater farm.....

Played with the doggies one day.............

Far South as you can go.........

6 toed cat at Hemmingway's home.........

Leaving Key West..............

Very early Am in Crystal River FL................

A couple of Manatees..................

My solar/wind clothes dryer........

Bourbon Street the morning after.............

New Orleans residents and their doggie.......

Southern sunrise..............

Almost home.......Highway One......one of the best rides in the country.........

Ride safe you guys...Jack

Jack, sounds like that was a great adventure. That HD is not much of an "adventure" bike if you did not have to replace a stator or fix a flat. Is it?

Lynn and I made it home safely (in-between Snow Storms in KS and CO) yesterday evening.

I will not muck up your thread with details of my trip but I did see at least two motorcycle riders on I 70 heading East in KS (both on sport touring bike).

See you in June Jack....
