After 2+ years of Old Schooling & more help from this board than I could have wished for I have finally bid farewell to my beloved X1. I had reached the stage where 100 miles of riding = 3 days of recovery due to my back issues. She has gone, lock, stock & barrel to a fellow Badwebber, who I am sure will care for her in the way I had intended to prior to my bad back. I just wanted to thank y'all for all the help with the bike (solicited & otherwise) & to assure you that I am still "Buelling" just not on a Tuber anymore! Chris C |

Bummer to hear that but at least you're still Buelling it.What type of back issues?I've had scoliosis(curvature of the spine)all my life and from time to time "it" lets me know "its" not a happy camper.LT |

I have congenital spinal stenosis, on top of which I had an L4, L5 Laminectomy & discectomy in 1991. I played rugby from age 9 until I was 47 & it is all catching up with me in my old age! The riding position on the X1 made it pretty insufferable so I purchased a Ulysses. The upright position on the Uly means I suffer almost no discomfort after a ride of 100+ miles. I wanted to keep the X1 for the rest of my riding life. I really loved the bike but I just couldn't continue to ride it. It has gone to a good home & to someone who will be able to use it for what it was built to do. Chris C |

Glad you are still riding a Uly and your X1 went to a fellow Bueller. See you on the Big Bad and Dirty board! Barry |

I can say that Chris is a real gentleman and worthy of all our best wishes. I have only known him for a short time, via email but a great guy to boot. The Ulysses is a great alternative and they are a very spirited ride. I am the new owner of the X1 and I am very grateful to you Sir for putting the love and effort into this very nice X1. I will never take credit for your work, if another Badwebber (or anybody) says nice bike, I'll say the previous owner did all the work and put this together. I will always credit you Chris with the build. Hope to see a bunch of you at Homecoming and some of you at Daytona in march. You may have been forced to let go of the cramped quarters on the X1, but the XB12X is a great platform, best wishes mate |

A bit presumptive of me but:
This is what she looked like prior to her trip to Indiana. Joe: I know you will love this bike at least as much as I did! Chris C |
