Couple of questions, first; is there a good selection of rear brake pads for an 00 X1? If so which are good? Not really important since I rarely use the rear brake. Upon removing the rear wheel, brake mount, and caliper, I noticed a lot, and i mean a ton, of what looked like black cotton candy around the rear brake area. I figured it was brake residue, but wonder if it shouldn't be that bad considering I hardly use the rear brake and maybe the pads are of poor quality.

I really like the Lyndall Golds. Finally installed a set this year, improved feel and a bit more bite than the stock compound.

Some like the EBC HH compound pads. I have not tried them.

Guell's prolly onto something there

Just repacked the V&H. Had to do a complete teardown of the muffler, I think everything that could go wrong with that thing has. I've had to re-weld the front mount back on, replace all the rivets on the front, repack it, replace all the hardware on the tip, guess I didn't expect it to be that bad, I replaced the packing and periodically check to make sure it's holding up, so far so good. Guess that explains the cotton like black stuff. Thanks guys!
