Through all the fine tuning of the part, my bolt became very slightly worn where it interfaces with the new part (I guess that's what happens with guinea pigs - still works great tho). Before I have 60 or so of these things made I'd like to test the fit of another Buell's unadulterated bolt with my refined design. If anyone is willing to ship their gas cap (maybe you have an extra) to me, I'll use it to test the fit of the refined design. Don't worry, your bolt will be fine.  What do you get out of this? Well, you get the part at half price and your gas cap will be returned to you fully assembled and improved. | ||

I can send you a cap. Stripped mine a while back and have been using a blast cap ever since. I was planning on using the jb weld method posted on this site but never got around to it, glad I didn't now. | ||

UPDATE: The machinist has gotten all the blanks finished and will start the finishing touches this week!  If anyone wants to send their payment now so I can get it shipped out as soon as it's finished then email me your address with "username-Buell_gas_cap" in the subject line so I can send you the total cost (email: kclouse@gmail.com, Paypal: kclouse@sbcglobal.net). I hope to start mailing them by the end of next week, but that may be a bit optimistic. By the way, the best way to make the payments is either cash by mail or paypal (gift so there is no fee.) A couple people have expressed concern about performing this mod on their gas caps so I thought I'd just throw this idea out there. If you don't need to use your bike for a while, you can send me the cap and I will clean it up, replace o-rings and do the mod myself. If anyone is interested just send me a PM and we can work out the details. | ||

If you ordered 1 and you live in the continental US the total is 18.25 to cover the cost of the part itself, the fasteners, and shipping. (2 = 35.50 and 3 = 52.75) If you live out of the country I'll let you know on a case by case basis but It shouldn't be more than a dollar or two more. I decided on these flat rates to make everything easier... depending on where in the US you live I may be shortchanging you or myself some small amount, but the difference shouldn't be much. I hope this works for everyone. | ||
