"Why is there never any talk about the S3's? Yeah, I know that the S3 is essentially an M2 with fairings and bags..

No not really!

"... with a 5 year production run I would think the owners would be on Badweb proudly talking about them???"

"There was less than 4500 produced in the 5 years and less that 1800 where S3T models.

The bike is in no way an X1 either. IMHO it was the next generation of the S2 with an accountant leaning real hard on the engineers to take cost out of the bike. Kind of sad in that regard.

As an S3T owner, the bike is pretty trouble free and kind of a sleeper.

Sort of ironic, actually, since the one Buell my wife would like the most would be the S3T, so she could be more comfortable on the back. But I would surely have to get rid of one of my other Buells to get one.

A nicely sorted, FI (late year) S3T would be mighty fine with me. They came in great colors, too.

Dang - I hate threads like this, especially when guys go pimping their rides. It makes me start hankering.....

Now that I've stirred the pot, I've learned a little about the S3. Before I bought my M2 I had my eye on an ad for a unmolested Forest Green S3T. It looked real clean in the pictures. It would have cost me about twice what I paid for the M2 though, and it was several hundred miles away. My friend sold me the M2. I love my M2 and would part with it but I still think about the S3T I lusted over for awhile.

I wasn't real big on the Forrest Green but I wasn't real big on the Reactor Yellow at first either. Now I know that Yellow is the fasted color.
