The stock headlight on my 2000 M2 seems to have something moving around when the bike shakes from engine vibration. It may be that the shield over the bulb is loose and is wiggling. This movement is apparent in the pattern displayed as it shines on a wall. It is also visible when just looking at the light.

Does anybody else see this on their bike? Maybe my headlight is broken even though the light still works? It just bugs me a little because it looks funny and immediately draws your attention.

Sounds like a loose filament holder. Not sure how they are held in place, but if one comes loose, the filament could stay intact but the whole thing could jump up and down with vibes.
If it is loose, epoxy should hold it.

Can you hear it when it idles?

Mine rattled around because a screw came loose from the retaining ring.
