You need the TOOL to hold the motorsprocket/clutch sprocket from moving ...

PM me and "i" will send you the SPECIFICATIONS and you can make one, PLUS additional "INFO" ...

DO NOT USE A "IMPACT WRENCH" AS IT WILL DAMAGE THE STATOR !!!

That's my special tool...I locked it in place and used an impact. Your mileage may vary
Try a heat gun and breaker bar and use the correct socket (non metric) and 6 point if you can.

Also, it's reverse thread and on there with about 200ft-lb.

NO, the stator is standard thread! The clutch nut is reverse thread.

Clutch will come off easier. The crank nut is red loctited (sp?) on there.

Well.... guess i found the problem why the stator went out. It chewed up a magnet.

Soooo.... where the hell can I find a cheap used magnet rotor for cheap and asap? LoL.

there is a reason why the xb is a little different. I think its a tad deeper. I remember the guy who did the write up with the 38amp stator swap saying why he used the OEM instead of xb rotor.

And i dont know how you found that first one... i looked on ebay for a good 2 hours last night and only found the big twin rotors.

Though for that price I might as well buy a new one. They are $120.

For any who would use R850's hinge trick, please make sure the hinge is truly BRASS, not brass-plated steel. The softer brass will not harm the teeth as a hard steel plate could.
Fabbing one up, per Buellistic, out of aluminum works as well. Stick with the softer metals.

+1 on the bar stock aluminum. Cheap enough, and readily available at home depot or lowes.

I've used a cut-down electric edger blade for my locking tool. I've used it three times now and I don't have any marks or any other damage I can see. I wouldn't hesitate to use it again. Maybe if I used that in conjunction with an impact wrench it might lead to damage but I don't do that. My local home depots/Lowe's/other never had any bar stock aluminum. They all have the electric edger blades. They all have door hinges too.

Meh... re read the old post. its the actual xb stator thats different. Not the Rotor. I put a bid in for that XB rotor. Hope it doesn't get bid up...

I just need to get my bike running before I do my diesel swap into my El camino next week.

I am pretty sure those teeth are a lot harder steel than any old hinge. I use aluminum square tube stock, but I really doubt you will damage the teeth with a steel hinge.
