i see a ad on craigslist someone is parting out a 2002 X1 lighting.. will a 2002 x1 parts fit on a 98 S1? thanks.

What are you looking at? Front fender, some engine parts, tail light, pegs, tires, wheels...

...really just depends on the parts.

Many body parts are a definite no, except the fender and chin fairing.

Nope, exhaust is totally different. The frame changed in 1999 and so did the exhaust routing to match. The muffler will have a 2.5" inlet and yours is 2" so that won't interchange either.
