This month marks ten years with my beloved 1996 S1 Lighting.

This is how we started:

"So happy together"

This was the first set of mods one month later:

...and neither has ever been the same...

Thanks guys. I can't see myself without this bike either. People really don't understand. Most of the guys I know have something different every several months, it seems. Everyone seems to expect me to gravitate towards a faster bike. This is as fast as I need to be going. When I buy another streetbike it's going to be SLOWER.

People have given me the same help and there's also some great resources on this site. A member gave me a rear shock for no charge when people were trying to sell them on EBAY for $350. You just don't get that kinda help anywhere else.

The dual rotors were a necessity at the time. I was doing some serious braking from triple digit speeds on a back road I was using a few times a day. I was buying a set of pads and a rotor every 6 months or so. These have been on there for six plus years with a couple pad changes. It did cost $950 in new parts with an employee discount, and my wife wouldn't talk to me for a couple months. No biggie. Small price to pay for durable, fade-free performance.

I haven't done any stoppies in a while. I can't afford to mess one up ATM. It's never happened, but ya never know...

Blake, it's not always the forks, but what's in them that counts.

Thanks Brother.
