As I mentioned, I have only seen it in connection with use on a Blast. There is a fair amount of discussion about it in various areas of the Thumper forum - search it for "splitter" - but I'm not sure the larger twin needs the same help as a Thumper for extra low end.

Fahren:

One would get a lot more out of the BLAST just by tuning the length of the INTAKE TRACK ...

This also works on the TUBE FRAME Models, "BUT" it makes the carburetor look funny sticking out too far, even just for 2 inches ...

People are always trying to sell you dumb crap that goes between the carb and the engine.
Remember the "tubolator"?

Remember the "atomizer"?

If it actually helped, the manufacturers would have put one in each engine!

I always thought they sold those things to keep people from 'making sweet love' to your intake.....

UPDATE:

Fuel mileage seems about the same.

Power delivery is absolutely excellent from idle to red line.

Now, with the quiet stock exhaust, the M2 is the best bike I have ever seen for gliding along at a relaxed pace.

It sort of "thrums" along like a good BMW twin.

Just remember to look at the speedometer more often because it is easy to go much faster than you think without all the noise to remind you of your speed.

Anyway, the Rx is:

Forcewinder Intake
Stock Exhaust

200 main jet
148 slow jet
1/8" hole in slide vacuum port
3 .022" shims
Idle mixture 3 turns out

OK continuing the lesson here, if my Air/Fuel ratio is 10:1 or 11:1 at 1/4 throttle, is that too rich or too lean?

Sorry, getting even more basic here.

Edv:

Have my engine set up and tuned to run 12 to 1 FUEL/AIR Ratio ...

Did so with a FUEL/AIR Gauge set up ...

Gas mileage is good(CV40)if "i" stay off the throttle, the engine runs cooler, and "i" have yet to foul a spark plug ...
