2000 X1. Major loss of power, literally running on one cylinder (tested by disconnecting one spark plug then the other while running, front cylinder not firing) Thought it was maybe bad gas, changed it and the spark plugs(normal wear) and the problem was solved for about 30 miles, now doing the same but not as bad yet, fires intermittently. Need to have a fuel filter shipped to try that route. Any other suggestions? and suggestion of where to get a fuel filter in my hands yesterday!

New plugs. NAPA has them

New wires. Call Al at American Sport Bike

In that order.

Probably simpler than you thought. These bikes are easy to maintain. If you don't own a service manual, get one. The people on this site are awesome and will help you.

+1 on the wires. It could also be a bad connection or bad injector on that cylinder, though I would think an open circuit on that would throw a code on the ECU.

You can rule out the fuel pump and filter or anything else that is shared between the front and rear cylinders. It wouldn't only drop one cylinder if those were bad.

Oh yeah, stupid me never thought about that (both cylinders). Already changed the plugs, so wires are next, was suspecting the possibility of the injector. Thanks!
