Hello. I am having one hell of a time trying to get the old pads off of my rear caliper on my 95 S2 thunderbolt. Is there a trick to this? How do the pins come off in order to pull the pads off? | ||

I unmounted the caliper already. All its attached to is the brake line. I am wondering how to get the pads off of the caliper. It seems like there are 2 pins keeping the pads on and I am stumped on how to get these pins out of the way so the pads can slide off. | ||

You do not remove the pins you push them down toward the piston. While you are holding it down pull the pad up and over the pins.. | ||

You need to push the pistons back into the caliper in order for there to be room for the new pads. Do this while you have the old pads in place and you can just lever something against the old pads. (Although you should also clean what crap might be on the sides of the pistons. I think you will find that the pads come out easily once the pistons are fully retracted into the caliper. | ||
