Ok I have a 2000x1 that is running on 1 cylinder sometimes it’s the front sometimes it’s the rear or both but runs like crap. It all started with what I thought was a bad injector. Before finding this I pull tps off and put it back on so now it had to be reset. When I had it all apart I found 2 wires that rubbed threw one of them was the red power wire to the key and the other one was a black ground wire. I have ecm spy and have reset the tps like it’s called out in the book and on ecmspy website and no change so thinking I pulled the wrong injector I changed the other one and did a tps reset again and bike started and ran like it did when it was new so problem fixed.....wrong after 2 days or 20 miles its back to doing the same thing. But I noticed with ecmspy the tps degrees changed from 4.9 to 4.6 and the% changes from 5.5 to 5.1 with the bike just setting with all hands off is that normal?

my bike always stays at what the tps is set at.

Did the TP sensor come loose? If not may need a new one.

It's a small difference.
Perhaps it wasn't fully warmed up when you reset the TPS?

that is because the adjustment screw is not in the perfect position move it one way or the other a tiny bit and it should level off at 5.1 on my x1 it is at 4.3 for some reason and it idles perfecly at 870 980 i reset tps many times to bring it up to 5.1 but idle was way to high and yes the bike was at operating temp cold start was at 100

TP fluctuation like that is nothing to worry about but it looks like your AFV is too high.
A poor TPS calibration should not cause a cylinder to cut out.

i seen the AFV was way up there so i reset it to 100 and it made no change at all. i checked the screws for the TPS and everything was tight. i reset it when it was cold and also when it was hot and the best reset that fixed it last time i turned the ideal screw all the way out with key off and unplugged the TPS and plugged it back in and did the reset. that worked for 2 days.this is a better clip on youtube http://youtu.be/f7tmey8BiQc

why dont you try reading the ecmspy guide on how to do a tps reset or just go to youtuber and search for buell tps reset and there is the correct way to do it.

this is how i did the TPS reset

First select the Gauges screen and connect to the ECM.
On the front left of the engine, between the airscoop and the engine is the Idle adjust screw, which
simply adjusts the butterfly in the injector to allow air through for tickover. Adjust this screw until the
throttle % drops to 0. Keep winding the screw out a bit further and hold the throttle closed with light
clockwise pressure on the throttle grip.
Select the Functions tab on ECM Spy and select TPS Reset.
Wind in the idle adjust screw until the TPS is set to approx 4.6 degrees or 5.1% This should be
approximately correct for tick over.
That’s all there is to resetting the TPS!Start the bike and check tick over is ok, adjust the idle adjust
to get a steady tick over.

Looks like you did it right. Sometimes it is a good idea to visually inspect the butterfly to make sure it is fully closed. I missed the part about unplugging/plugging the TPS. Not sure I understood the purpose and/or the outcome.

I looked at the butterfly to see that it was all the closed and even cleaned the throttle body the black crap that builds up inside so that knew it was closing all the way. Now with the unplugging the tps it was more or less to see if the plug was all the way seated and did the tps reset and all seemed well when I started the bike. Took the bike out for a short 20 min ride. Like I said in the first post it ran like it did when it was new pulled up on one wheel without even trying. Next day put all the covers back on and 1 more ride and was the same as the day before just like a new bike. This has me stumped on what the problem is I'm starting to think the ECM might be bad.

I'd check the connectors to ground and the injectors. Sounds like bad connections. Jiggle wires around with the bike running see if you can reproduce the symptom.
