99x1 raceecm, did a tps reset, afv was 100%, reset any way. fetched eprom, didnt touch the maps, selected a couple of features, bank angle off, fuel cut on decel off, changed the fuel enrichment to a 3 from a 1 and changed min o2 rpm to 2500 from 600. now the bike starts, runs for a few seconds, will take throttle, and dies, almost like no fuel presure, hit the switch again and it will do same thing, repeat as wanted. any idea what has happened? bike was running fine, except for wot above 3g, would seem to run lean, not happy, roll back the throttle a bit and all was well, no fault codes. someone else posted a similaar problem a while ago but i cant find the thread. HELP please.

Why not change the enrichment and O2 values back the way they were and try it again?

Test fuel pump
then run sure sounds like some thing has been turned off, that was not supposed to be.

and put the enrichment values back too.

i have a stock ecm, that wasnt installed on the bike, ya know box of spares. instaaled did a tps reset and all is well, bike idles fine responds to ecm changes, etc. so i know the problem exists in the race ecm, as to what changed i have no idea.

get a hold of Kalali (sorry if I got it wrong Moshen) he may be able to send you the eeprom file for a race ecm

My GUESS is some one hamfisted the prom write
and over wrote the whole thing and maybe screwed the pooch, you might be able to save it with a re-write.
include the fuel tables, dont change any thing other than tps reset and afv
see if that wont help

When you are running 3600 or less rpm, you are running in closed-loop mode.

O2 is working? Are you sure?

When you changed your minimum rpm for your O2 sensor from 600rpm to 2500rpm, you've made the closed-loop band very narrow. With that, you have an engine that is in an open-loop condition, almost any way, at idle.

With that, your ECM DDFI engine isn't getting the enrichment it needs to run at idle.

I'd put the O2 sensor back to 600rpm and see what it does from there. If you haven't changed your AFR's, then the ECM will be in closed-loop from idle to 3600rpm and you should feel little to no hesitation rolling on the throttle.

If you have a new set of plugs, I'd throw them in for the heck of it. These engines don't like to idle long before the plugs load up.

i changed the o2 on rpm back to 600, no difference. do you have an eprom file for a bueja120? i have tried many different configurations of the settings and same issue. i didnt alter any cells in the maps.
i had the stock ecu in this morning, went for a ride, runs ok, just dosnt respond like it did with the race ecu. something must have changed internally, some function that isnt listed on the eprom options.

Jon:
I think what is going on with your bike is the ECM is trying to relearn itself, if that makes sense.

It may now take several starts and several low speed, around town, runs to get itself sorted out again.

Sorry, but no I don't have any maps of any sort. Just going by what I'm learning from the manual, wrenching on it myself, and fellow BWB's.

i think what i may try next, is to jumper the fuel pump and manually turn it on, not let the ecu have control over it. this way i may be able to run it long enough to let it learn itself. when it dies it kinda sputters sometimes, like fuel starvation, yet when i swap ecu's, fires right up and runs well.

= Bad idea,

you have changed some thing some where in the prom it ran, you changed it, it does not, you tried another ecm it runs ..

If I were home at the moment I would send you a map ee prom for your race box to try.

Two EEPROMs here for you (depending on firmware). Copy the relevant content into Notepad and save as a text file then read it in with ECMSpy. You will need to do a TPS reset though:

Jon - Sorry. Got your PM but just couldn't find free time to respond to your request.
I'll do it when I get home.
One comment. I'm willing to bet that the fuel enrichment value (actually it is the number of revs) you changed is the source of your problem. That value really can't be changed from the ECMSpy page even if it shows it as changed. You need to literally go into the EEPROM (the big table posted above)and change it there. I used to know which entry corresponded to that value but can't find it in my notes. In theory that parameter acts like the accelerator pump in a carb and some believe that increasing the value will make the throttle response more crisp. I went down that road and experienced the same exact symptoms you did/do. Had to struggle back to where I had started. Not sure why you wanted to change it in the first place but you need to do it the right way. If you are anxious to fix this right away my suggestion is use your "stock" ECU and just copy/save/load "Race" fuel/timing maps from your Race ECU onto it. Needless to say, back up both the EEPROM and fuel/timing files from your stock unit before you do anything.
Good luck.

"Acceleration Enrichment Full Accel Revs?"

Yup Tim, meant to say acceleration enrichment as opposed to fuel enrichment. That value has nothing to do with fuel enrichment.
I played with it for a while but could never get the bike to run right after changing it. I'm still looking in my notes trying to find the exact location of that value in the EEPROM table.

The link I put shows the location for it - 0x002f.

You can also find this stuff in the back of the latest tuning guide from the ECMSpy people

Tried loading EEPROM says error eeprm not comparable with ecu . Once I find this Bin in the EEPROM file what am I looking for or what do I need to change. Can't seem to burn that 3 in the accell revs to a 1. Can't seem to load into stock ecu either. I may transpose the fuel and ignition values from race ecu to stock. Argh why did I mess with this.

"The link I put shows the location for it - 0x002f."

May be someone more knowledgeable can tell which row and which column.

"Can't seem to load into stock ecu either."

If I were you I would not attempt loading any .epr files in the stock ECU. However, you should be able to safely load the .msq file that I sent you in the stock ECU. But make absolutely sure you have backed up both the stock .epr and .msq files before you do anything.

Here you go:

From the link, the location is the "offset".

bw1

So the location is 0x002f, this corresponds to row 02 and column 0f. See highlighted cell. You kinda count from the left to the right from 0 to f (0 to 16 you you and me - but we are working in hexadecimal).

bw2

If it is not clear, let me know and I will try to explain better...

"Tried loading EEPROM says error eeprm not comparable with ecu ."

This suggests you are trying to load a JA120 into a KA210 or vice versa...
