Well... good, bad or other? I have heard these are not worth the $$$ but I purchased one anyways.... I DO NOT LIKE HID or Dual Lights, just curious what experiences others have had this this > http://www.customdynamics.com/high_intensity_led_h eadlamp.htm

Well I'm running the old standby Sylvania Silverstar and I like that bulb quite a lot.

I'd be interested in seeing how these led lights compare to those.

I also would be interested in seeing or hearing what the difference would be.....Just a good LED flashlight is awesome, a 10 LED headlight could make the night become day......I wonder what the illuminant factor is??

I am installing tonight and will post before and after pics and a short video.... May be $300 but if they are better, last longer and do not blow out all the better. I too have the H4 Silverstar and they are nice, so my comparison tonight will be between the Sylvania Silver Star and the LED. Look for pics to be posted tonight around 6-7 Central time.... CBJ

Not sure if this is the same light. It says the military uses them on there stuff. I found places selling them for over $600 each so $300 is much better.

"The LED technology used in Truck-Lite’s Headlamps will offer improved visibility over conventional incandescent, as the color temperature of the assembly is around 5000K, far closer to sun light than incandescent or halogen lamps."

OH SWEET, i saw Harley has been offering these lately on some of their bikes as an aftermarket add-on. Been holding off on installing the HID ballast on my S1, curious to see how this will look.

Well, I install tonight so I will let you all know with actual pics and a weblink to a video post. The Truck-lite are not the same but I saw a comparison side-by-side and the $300 option is just as bright. I am installing the Custom Dynamics 7" LED on my 2002 X1W so we shall see how it stacks up against the Sylvania Silverstar...

My main concern regarding LED and higher color temperature HID type lights for motorcycle use is that while they might be much better for night driving they are not as visible (to cars) during day light. They seem to blend more with day light as compared to a halogen or more "yellowish" color temperature bulbs. You can experiment yourself by looking straight from a few meters away at one of those real strong LED flashlights in a bright day right next to a "regular" flashlight and see which one is more visible. Like anything else in life I suppose its a trade off and it all depends on how much night driving one does. I personally hardly ever ride after dusk. Just a thought.

yeah, I ride like every single cager is out to purposely kill me to death.

My main concern with a headlight is optimal night time performance.

I don't ever expect it to be a deterrence for brain dead cagers.

I love riding hot arse nights, so yeah... to me, night visibility is a very high priority, but very good comments... I just may also take some before and after pics in the sun light/daylight for comparison views... got UPS Delivery notice the light has arrived, so in she goes when I get home. : )

"I ride like every single cager is out to purposely kill me to death"

My god, if I really felt like that I wouldn't even leave my driveway...
But then again, for those of us who live in New Jersey, you're probably right.

For day time visibility I just got a load of those revolving amber warning lights. The kind towtrucks use. they have magnetic bases so if you have a metal tank... $19.50 free shipping.

A brake light flasher helps make you more obvious to those driving behind you. Flashes 4 times quickly every time you put on the brakes, then goes solid.

I use my headlight modulator sometimes, but sometimes it doesn't feel like it's sending the "right signal" out to drivers - I don't know - it's a gut feeling and I go with it.

My helmet is bright orange.

I wish I had more reflective stuff on my gear.

Well, well, well.... yeah, you pretty much can tell which one is BRIGHTER! Even the low beam is brighter and cool look to it...

See pics...

Very wide on low beam side to side even... very white, white long or high beam... just now getting darker here and the pattern is much longer reaching and much more broad than the Silvania Silverstars hands down... not even close... Silverstar in the above is high beam

Pricey lamp, but it's worth the cost if it helps save your life. Thanks for posting.

You are all very welcome and yes... it is annoyingly bright! If it saves your life well worth it. Wife said from the side approaching her while she was in my truck at a stop light and I was on the oncoming lane, she said she had to notice it because it was, "TOO 'UCKING bright" : )

Great review. I live in whitetail central so the extra distance in night visibility buys some critical reaction time

I never realized New Jersey was whitetail central. I was thinking more along the lines of Ohio through Iowa. Still just about any critter can mess up your ride if you roll over it.

Sorry to revive an old thread but.....
I just received a 7" trucklite led from amazon, but it does not fit the trim ring to my 1999 x1. It appears to be about 1/2" too small for ring. Did you guys get a trim ring from somewhere? Thanks for any help you can provide.
