My check engine light comes on after a few minutes riding at 60+ on freeway. It does not come on riding around town. I checked and there are no error codes shown in historic data. The light stays on until I turn the bike off and does not come back on until back on freeway. Suggestions?

I'd check the O2 sensor. As an experiment you could turn if off (via ECMspy) and see if that stops the CEL from coming on.

No historic codes - what about current codes? There must be a code for it to be coming on.

Any change to how it runs?

No change in how the bike runs. After I turn it off, when I turn the ignition back on, the light comes on for a few seconds like it aways has and then turns off. Riding around town for days will not cause it to come on, but as soon as I hit the freeway, on it comes. I checked for error codes using the VDO software I use to do TPS reset. Nothing current or historic error codes. I do have a race ECM.

It sounds stupid but check your oil level.
Dunno why but mine would do what yours does w/o the oil light coming on. It was a little low on oil. I topped it off & the condition has not recurred. I also have the race ECM.

I may have fixed the problem. The gasket or the rear cylinder header had evidently disintegrated and exhaust was blowing by. Replaced the gasket (sort of since it is still leaking a little) and a freeway run yesterday did not light up the CEL.
