This question was asked recently... Did you try a search? I would be surprised if it is not in the knowledge vault. Answer is yes, but you will need the rear axle and adjusters and the bolt and washers for the swing arm / rear shock... Whilst you are there, fit the newer isolators... |

While not as rude as Dyno....yes, it will work, just make sure you have everything (as they stated - the axle is different) And agreed that while youre in there change out the isolators. Its a bitch, but better to do it then and have it done for future |

Here is info passed to me on this: You will need new bearings and seals (same as S1) an axle, axle carriers, adjusting screw/nut assemblies and if not already fitted the later isolator mounts. Make sure a drain hole is drilled in the bottom of the shock mount fork. Your rear brake line will be a tight fit, so a good time to swap for a new (braided?) one if you wish. HTH. |

Thank you. And yes I did try a search also but either my lack of techy or wording could not find it. I picked up a swingarm with the mount and has the rubber pieces which if I am correct are the isolators I will get new ones. Came with the fender, axle, adjusters and such $100 he has the shock also which I am getting its brand new. If anyone needs a m2 seat I can get them from him he has 3 I will find out a price useally pretty fair my tank was 60. Thanks again guys |

Apologies (to Hybridmomentspass especially) if that came across as rude, wasn't meant to be (however the same questions come up again and again). I just tried a "Google" search and I came up with nothing obvious, however I am certain someone was asking about it in the last few weeks. (Message edited by dynosaur on July 18, 2011) |

This is no doubt why Buellistic prefers to email copies of how-to info to interested parties: once posted, the info gets quickly buried in the huge data base that is badweb history, and is not easily accessed. There is a huge amount of really good info on this forum, but it can take some real detective work to find it sometimes. |

Fahren thanks. Ok couple ? If my bearings are good do I need to change them or are they diffrent. If you have part numbers that would help I am not familiar with all the parts yet. I do get why a hole should be drilled makes sense. Inn getting the newer isolators (rubber pieces?) Woujld I get m2 ones or S1? Will I need diffrent axle spacers/brake mount I have pm wheels? All the info is helping this will be a winter project with a complete tear down and rebuild so I have time to gather parts |

For bearings you want 2 x bearing L44643 and 2 x race L44610. OEM was Timken. Since you are removing the seals to get to them, you will want to replace these too - 47584-94Y. Everything within the swinging arm fork, i.e. spacers and caliper bracket, will fit either steel or aluminum arm. (Message edited by Dynosaur on July 19, 2011) |

Since you have it all torn apart, you may as well replace the bearings. Swing arm bearings and steering head bearings (same part used for both) can't move through full 360-degree range of movement - this is going to wear the bearings and races unevenly over time: just back and forth along a fairly narrow arc of movement. |

Yea I will replace all the wear parts while it is apart just makes sense. |

What stops the original shock from fitting then? |
