Got the 00 M2 back on the rode and I'm dealing with carb farts. I have the stock carb, a forcewinder, and force exhaust. I've read that when cruising at 2500-3500 and getting carb farts unless rolling on the throttle indicates running lean. That's excatly what my bike is doing. I know I have a 45 slow jet and I'm not sure about the main. I can disassemble/reassemble a carb blindfolded but don't know too much about jetting. I believe my pilot screw is 2 1/2 turns out. What should I be looking to do here. Really don't want to deal with a piston with a hole in it.

Intake seals are a common source of a lean condition. Do you know the status / condition of yours?

Kilroy, that was my first guess considering mine are probably 3 1/2 or so years old. Its just that when researching this I found a lot of fingers pointing at the jetting. Any idea if a bottle of propane will show if the intake seals are no good?

It's probably the intake seals.
Yes you can use propane but use it sparingly. Don't let it "bleed" into the carb inlet, that will give you a false reading..

If you were getting it off idle I'd say you could stand to go up a jet size on the idle circuit, but since it's at running rpms I'd bet on intake seals first.

Every once in a while I get it off idle too. I do some investigating and check back.

I get them like you had it checked out being new to buells. The mechanic said that because of the upgraded intake and exhaust the only way to get rid of it completely was a carb upgrade kit I think he called it a cobra I can check on it. He did adjust things and it is much better only does it occassionally. My seals are good. And this seams to be a buell thing kinda like a jeep thing just part of having it

S1Owner, I don't buy that. I think it's completely repairable/tuneable. I really like your bike though.
