Not a lot you can do with the wires...that's why they put a flyscreen on there in the first place ; )

I am planning on some woodcraft clipons, xb headlamps and making a dash panel that mounts to the handlebar clamp bolt holes on the stock triple clamp. I am going to get the gauge pods and the head lamp as close together as possible to hide the wires. I too like the no flyscreen look.

Not totally apposed to the look ifs its done clean .Outwater plastics and Moccet Industries make wire organisers for the furniture trades , not sure if they would work on a BUELL .What ever you do , please save the factory parts . Theres only so many left.

i keep thinking of ditching my windscreen and XB light setup and going back to a single v-rod light with a motogadget miniscope speedo mounted inside the handlebar clamp.

we will see...

The V-rod light does look slick on the tube frame bikes, almost like it was meant to be there. Thats one of my long term mods.....

MmmmmmmMotogadet... been droolin on those as well.

I was going to use split poly loom and zip ties to clean everything up and try and hide every thing behind the lamps and guage pods.

heres a side view of the dash i made.
made out of aluminum plate.
removed the top bar clamp, milled it to a shallower angle (a belt sander would work for this also), drilled n tapped new mount holes, chopped off the screen mount brackets, and lowered the headlight.
was prety easy, just took allot of measureing and fitting to get the stuff back into the dash.
Goldtooth's pic shows how good this mod looks perfictly.
home made dash

Looks clean, I have actually been thinking about making a new dash with nothing more then a small tach and a GPS unit.

that would look good.
im a believer of "less is more"
would really like to find some Bullet gauges but that costs Money.
youll be happy with the look of your new front end.

Psykick... Thats almost exactly what I want to make. My idea was to use woodcraft clip-ons and use the bottom half of the bar clamp (on the top triple clamp) as the mounting point. Only problem with that idea is I would either need to angle it up or make it tall so the gauge pods clear the forward edge of the triple clamp.

that would look freakin great!
fitting the gauges around the triple clamp and headlight is the challange.
using aluminum plate is the way to go for ease of cutting/filing/bending, and you could make some spacers to raise it up to a more managable height above the triple clamp. id use the top bar clamp as a spacer/mounting block. you could mod it to whatever angle, size and height you need for clearance.

Gauges? We don't need no stinking gauges!!

Not going for nice, but it's not yet finished either. I ride it every day so I do things when I can.
After the last car I had to push out of my way, I finally put on XB lights (which I've wanted to do for a long time). I left the tach on the side of the 10 fwy and figured the speedo would be lonely by itself, so I left it off too. (it's not as easy to judge how far between fuel stops now that there is no odometer, but whatever). Quick made a little mount for the dummy lights but I think I'll improve on this.
No, the headlight mount is not affecting proper torque on the upper fork clamps. The headlight does not move either. It is snug, but just snug.

Here it is with XB lights

The clear line on the dash is the clear coat decal to keep my FOB from rubbing on the carbon

That looks clean.
Did you have to do anything to the stock X1 headlamp mounts to mount up the XB lights?
Unfortunately my mounts were well bent up. With the screen, I like the lights low how you have them. I didn't like them low without the screen though.

the stock brackets work but you need to add some stuff for the xb lights to work. should be pretty self explanitory. i then fabbed up a screen mount that works off of the factory x1 mount.

Thanks!
since i was a kid i wanted a British racing green with gold pinstrip cafe racer.
the dash is home made out of some scrap .125 thick alumimum.
i can look for the measured drawing, its in a pile somewhere?!?!? if i cant find it it shouldnt be hard to recreate. gotta take it back off for paint some day and could make a template for ya.
i used the stock dash for a little while and DONT recomend it. looks bad and shakes like mad!
mounting to the tripple clamp shouldnt be a prob, just might get crowded with all the wires and break line. the headlight can be moved down pretty far.

I'm in the process of a similar fab dash for my M2.

Hope to end up with a seat, two wheels and a motor.

I've always felt the M2 had a goofy head and a big ass. Hoping to fix both.
