"You will basically have to remove the swingarm to do the isolators. " This is not true. In fact removing the isolators is one of the things you have to do on the way to removing the swingarm not the other way around. |

yeah doesnt seem hard will be doing that shortly.. ok so i went outside to check out the trottle cable connections on the handle bar, saw the first cable was loose so i hand tightened it and i turned on the bike and seems to be running right again.. was weird guess ill keep a eye out on the cable nut.. |

This is not true. In fact removing the isolators is one of the things you have to do on the way to removing the swingarm not the other way around. depends on the method, personally id remove it anyways and replace the swingarm bearings in my bike, since id trust new ones over 30k mile 14 year old bearings in my bike. |

it seems to me i just need to put the isolators back in place. When i had it jacked up it went back in place while it was up, theres like a little lip that the rubber bushing or w/e goes onto. Do i need to tightnen that nut or something? something is making that isolator not go where its suppose to go, but the whole rubber peice itself still looks good its weird ill get some pics up soon and maybe yall can see. On a side note.. the bike does seem to Vibrate ALOT less than before wonder if its because of the new pulley? or since i jacked up the bike it moved that isolator around? or since i adjusted the shock/spring thing? overall im happy and the bike runs better with that belt loose, its scary loose :P (Message edited by Hellraged on July 04, 2011) |

Sounds like the ferrule on your throttle cable popped out of its socket and hung up. Take some safety wire and secure the ends of both throttle cables at the carb, then adjust them so there's not enough slack to let them fall out again. rt |

"depends on the method" I don't know where you got that idea but there is no "method" for changing isolaters that requires the swingarm to be removed first and in fact exactly the opposite is true: the isolaters are bolted to the parts that have to be removed in order to get the swingarm out of the carrier. So removing the isolaters is a step on the way to removing the swingarm not the other way around. I've done this job as well as removed and installed swingarms many times and you're not looking at how it all goes together. Actually the easiest method to change isolators is to unhook enough stuff to raise the back of the frame then swap the isolaters. If you also want to repack the swingarm bearings you can do it then also but you have to unbolt the isolaters first there's no way around it. Actually the easiest method is to get an S2 and then all this stuff is simple. |

Im actually going to the Dragons tail aug 25-28 if you want to come with me, dont know what you are doing , send a PM if you want to discuss it , that is if my bike is still in working order by then lol |

"im mostly thinking the way i would do it and renew everything back there since it is a 14 year old bike." Well that's fine but when you told the guy "You will basically have to remove the swingarm to do the isolators. " you gave bad information. It's not true at all and in fact the opposite is true you CAN'T even remove the swingarm without removing the isolaters first even if you wanted to. |

It's not true at all and in fact the opposite is true you CAN'T even remove the swingarm without removing the isolaters first even if you wanted to. want to bet, i do have a sawzall either way, who cares, i gave him a link on an easy way to do the iso's. Which didnt even mention dropping the swingarm, so why crap in this thread? |

Matt, you sound like all this heat is getting to ya.Looks like Nick's got a bike with a lot of serious issues.Hard way to start out in the Buell family. You gonna make the ride at the end of the month? I'm still on the iffy list. |

Matt, If I make it, I'll probably be going to my son's house in Taylors for a few days and just put the bike in the back of the truck....or trailer if I manage to get some new tires on it before then. My health won't let me handle more than a day of that riding. If I use the trailer I can get you that far up the road...put you within a couple of hours of Lil Switzerland. I thought you put the large tail on yours? |

still rocking the skinny force seat. Its not terrible, i can do 2-3 hour rides without stopping. The more i ride it the more i get used to it. |

hey all , i would go end of the month but i think im going to deals gap in aug. my wife dont want her thinking im skippin out on her or something lol. So another question.. easy one should be anyways.. i realized a month or so ago that my tail light went out.. the brake light still worked but the idle light was out. so i bought new bulbs.. again brake light was working but idle light or w/e you call it was blown.. so i replaced the bulb last night with the 2nd pair that came with it and tonight i was gonna go ride but to find out the tail light was yet again blown.. so what kind of blubs do i need for this thing? and what could be the issue here? thanks. p.s. i think the mofo that bought the bike new rode the hell out of it like a bat out of hell then tried to do some repairs but was a tard and didnt know what he was doing AT ALL. im slowly but surely getting back to where it should be i hope. |

looks like i bought the wrong voltage and wattage light bulb.. the one that had in there when i bought it had a Sylvania 7528 12vp21/5w and the one i bought was a Sylvania 7528 13.5v, 25/6w ... i guess that is the problem.. didnt see the voltage and wattage when i was at the auto store before.. i could prob. buy these from autozone or oreilys or something right? thanks. |

My local auto shops didn't have the right bulbs so I bought one from the moco. I run a led tail now so I don't ever worry about them burning out |
