Well, I just installed a set of Shinko 003 Stealth tires with ultra soft compound. I have no idea how long they will last but I have never experienced such good grip on twisty roads. They heat up quickly like a sprint tire, have a forgiving profile that gives predictable turn-in and they hold a like beautifully. At this rate I might have to buy them in quantity and get a tire changer. |

I have been VERY pleased with both sets of my 009 Ravens. I am considering buying the newer design 011 Verge's. Great price. Good performance. Great wet performance. I got my Ravens for $149 Delivered. Ditch finders they ain't. |

I have run many tire brands and on my klr650 i have shinko golden boys on the front and back. and they are ok.......Cheap ok. But the michelins and metzlers are wearing the same if not worse. Lowest milage yet is the michelin dot63 desert tire 1800 miles delivered on and off road. 65% on road and 45% off road......But for $44 bucks a pop i can only complain so much. |

I've always wondered about the use of soft compounds on the street. I've never used them. I always use sport touring compounds. A soft compound is of little benefit when dirt or gravel come into play on the road surface. Isn't that the primary risk to loss of control while cornering aggressively on public roads? Seriously, is anyone really riding so aggressively on public roads that their tires are sliding on good clean asphalt? If so, is not death or serious injury simply biding its time waiting for you? |

I am not riding too aggressively but I did drift my Dunlops on once in a while on exit from fast turns, purely unintentionally of course. I am not sure if the soft tires will help if I encounter bits of gravel that get between parts of the contact patch and the road surface, but it would seem that the rubber that does remain in contact with asphalt should grip as well as possible for maximum safety. Time will tell but I really do like the feel of these tires. |

Motorcycle Superstore. They had them on sale and I had a coupon from a prior purchase. Every time you buy something they send a coupon to keep you coming back. It works. |
