"only the lock plate and maybe the front pulley was messed up..." Hopefully that's all you need but keep in mind that the reason the shaft was/is spinning "inside" the pulley still needs to be determined and addressed. |

no the muffler he had was ripping where you mount it at. Wouldnt be a problem since im a welder and could weld it up but i was on my bike so no way to carry such a big thing lol and im almost positive that its the front pulley being stripped.. The lock plate was stripped and cracked no other things is messing up on it still sounds good and stuff :P |

1.Yup 2.Difference? can't answer that, but some people like it. If I post some mis-information here someone will surely pop on to correct it. So perhaps I should just threaten to... 3.Yup |

You may also want to inspect the output shaft (transmission) bearings while you're in there. Logically something must have caused the pulley to "freeze" relative to the shaft. I would get to the root cause before throwing a new pulley at it. |

i believe the reason why it was like that was because the belt was too tight, was tight to begin with and with my 215 lbs sitting on it made it really tight and being old and not used forever cause everything to strip. Everything on the output shaft looks good to my suprise. |

or the previous owner tried to do something with it and didnt put it on right.. i saw no locktight on the nut or anything i personally think the person that tried to do something to it was a retard. and drove it hard. |

Yahoo mail is refusing to respond for me. Here's the pulley. Can't find what I paid for it. I have your address so I'll box it up and get a quote for shipping tomorrow. If you have paypal that works, otherwise I'm happy to wait for you to mail a money order as you previously mentioned. How do you feel about $15 for the part. That probably even gives me a couple bucks profit, having paid somewhere between $8-$12 for it... it's been sitting in a drawer waiting for free time to drill for lightening. Pics:
I did pick it up from a take-off parts sale, counted the teeth and it seemed to match what was on my bike, so I bought it. Splines look fine, no signs of wear. Pulley teeth show some wear. If it turns out to be wrong and I'll reimburse you for the shipping when you send it back(both directions). and the Cost of the pulley as well. I'm fairly certain it's the right part. |

And what is that rubber bushing or w/e behind the spring thing under the bike? i saw it moving around when i started the bike up after i took off the front pulley. the shaft continues to turn even in idle normal? also. Dont have the bike at my house (over at my parents house in the garage) to show the bearings. (Message edited by Hellraged on June 23, 2011) |

went to the harley dealership to pick upthe socket nut and asked the ppl in service to run the VIN and see if any recalls have been done or not. Said all has been done but the rear shock something... said he will give me a call tues when he comes back to see if they have the part or what not. Is it really important or? |
