Hi,
I get the idea that the information on belt tension adjustment in the service manual is wrong. Could someone tell me the correct way to adjust?
Thanks so much!
Adam

Adam,
The way I adjust them is to support the bike so that you can remove the rear shock bolt and raise the swing arm so that the belt is at its tightest point where the swingarm is in a straight line with the front pulley, at this point I set the belt deflection at 1/2-5/8" then reconnect the shock to the swingarm. You will find that unloaded you now can touch the bottom of the swingarm with the belt midway between the pulleys. This seems awfully loose but is necessary to keep from over extending the belt on large bumps or heavy loads.

So loose it's scary.
