BUELLrobot:

With the BELT ADJUSTMENT Class 101, when you get the belt adjusted on the TIGHT SPOT measure it on the side stand ...

Let me know !!!

"i" never measured mine being only interested in getting as perfect as possible when setting it up ...

Cool, thanks for the feedback. Once I'm able to do the 101, I'll measure and report back : )

Get Lafayette's (Buellistic) instructions for lining up the sprockets to set belt tension.

It works and will let you set your belt with minimum excess slack but will ensure that it will never be too tight.

That eliminates the second guessing and you will know for sure that it is right.

I think mine is looser than that, but I feel like it skips a tooth when starting from a stop once in a while, so I may give each adjuster a couple turns and check it based on Lafayette's instructions.

haha you can almost peel my belt off without pulling the wheel in. Dont sweat it. Besides, the more you roll the throttle the tighter the belt is pulled against the drum.

Only reason to have it tight is if you have a properly fitted tension roller.
