Aluminum body, riveted together... I wouldn't buy one at all without pictures to assure it can at least be repaired. Unless you know and trust the seller. $20-50ish then, unseen, condition unknown. But that's just me. |

The one that came on my S1W was in terrible condition and took a fair amount of cash to fix. The rear cover had been rattling around for so long it nearly blew through all of the aluminum. One of the mounting tabs was busted off, there was a small hole in the can from the primary tensioner and the front end had multiple cracks. I had the holes (well...mostly slots) welded up completely and just match drilled to the end cap. That took a LOT of time to grind down and I burned up 2 dremel tools. |
