Hi Everyone,
Just checking in for the 1st time here. I just got my 1st Buell, a 1996 S2T. So far, I love it!
I want to take proper care of this baby, so I have one quick question to start. I noticed one of the forks is leaking. Any tips on rebuilding? I will call the Huntsville dealer tomorrow about parts / etc.
Thanks,
Adam

Welcome to the forum Adam. There are not a lot of us S2 owners, but we are passionate about one of the best bikes ever built. Check out the Christmas in July thread. S2 gathering coming up quick.

Hi Shane,
Thanks for the welcome! Unfortunately I can't make it to Christmas. I already have a trip to Deal's Gap on that weekend!
I hope you all have a great time.

Adam,
For servicing the forks, you will need a spring compressor,a fork bleed tool or some other way to hold the damper assembly,a seal/bushing driver and a service manual.
I was going to do mine on my '95 S2 recently and chickened out when I couldn't get the correct size seal driver at Traxxion Dynamics.
http://www.traxxion.com/ So I had them do a standard fork service $150 + parts.
Race Tech has the size needed for the WP fork,I just didn't want to wait for shipping.

I rebuilt my forks without any of the special tools. I wish I had had a chance to talk to you first, Buellish. Then again, I still haven't ridden the first mile on mine. I will attest that a manual is a must if it didn't come with the bike! Welcome to the madness...

Thanks for all the advice ( and the video! ). I have a manual on order.
I will probably have more questions after it gets here.

Adam, send me some info so we can get you in the S2 registry,

Include your VIN, color of the bike, your Signature Series
documentation status, and any other information you may want to record about your S2 Thunderbolt

Welcome to the madness
