I'm having an issue where when I crack the throttle open it bogs down for a half of a second then accelerates. I have gone through the carb and cleaned it and the jets are a 45 and a 190 with a Dynojet Thunderslide kit. I have noticed when I have the air filter off and when I hit the throttle the accelerator pump sprays fuel but it hits the slide and sprays back at me. After a good ride the air filter is saturated with gas as well which leads me to believe that the slide is not functioning properly. I have raised the slide and it moves freely and lowers back down slowly. It runs fine other wise it’s just when I hit the throttle it has an issue.

Thanks for your help!

i wonder if your float is set too high or is not closing all the way. You cold have gas overflowing into your carb at idle. when you have the air filter off, do you see gas coming out of one of the holes when the bike is just idling (not the accelerator pump)? does it run a little rough if you lower the idle speed? I don't have a tach, so I'm not sure what idle you'd want to lower it too. I hope that makes sense. let me know if it doesn't and I'll try to get more specific.

actually if your float isn't shutting off the incoming fuel, you won't need to have the bike running to see the fuel entering the velocity chamber (is that what its called?). Just take your air filter off without the bike running and see if fuel is leaking into there.

No it's not filling up with gas. Everything looks to be normal.

I can't remember for sure but I think the test for the slide is to use finger and it should raise with very little pressure and return quickly when released. The manual test is in the FSM somewhere.

Make sure the accelerator pump nozzle isn't loose. I think it screws in. If so it's possible it could be pointed wrong.
