I have been very lucky to get back to back weekend mornings to get out and ride. Soon soccer tourneys will start and the weekends will be eaten up quickly. Last time I wend east, towards Portland through the hills. This time I went west towards the valley. Actually went towards Forest Grove, where I went to high school. The destination was Maggies Buns! : )

Up early in Helvatia

The back way to North Plains

Old general store out by Roy

Old house outside Forest Grove. Any takers?

Downtown Forest Grove

Maggie's Buns!

MMMM!

After the wonderful breakfast, I swung by the first apartment my wife and I got together 15 years ago. Wow, it has been a long time. Looks almost the same though.

Had to get home after that so no more pics but what a beautiful morning . Hope you guys had a great ride too!

do you have a close pic of those bars.. i have 01 lightning and i do not like the bars so high i have them pushed down to the front so they are a little lower.. i was wondering how you made the homemade bars as you said. or what bars you recommend that are real low and narrow .

They are basically Crossroads bars from American Sport Bike. The plate was too thin so I made one from thicker 6061 and carbon fiber. I made a spacer from 1" thick 6061 and covered in in 1/8" of urethane for vibration dampening.
Everything is mounted to the stock upper tree

Sure, shoot me your email address and we can set something up. I am usually a short notice guy as my weekends are pretty busy.

Dude, I'm really digging your style with the bike (for my money that's the coolest tube frame I've seen). I was thinking how nice that scenery looked and then I saw you're in Portland. I used to live in Seattle and actually lived in Astoria for a while.

You're making me miss the Northwest.

I've got to say that with roads like those, I would have difficulty stopping to take pictures.

Can I ask what you had for breakfast? Over here (UK) it would be a big plate of eggs, bacon, bread, sausages and a few other unhealthy fried offerings, plus a big mug of tea, but I don't recognise what you have there.

Great pictures, I REALLY must get the S3 back on the road....NOW!

It was a breakfast burrito covered in too much cheese. Inside was good but had to remove some of the cheese.

I ride those roads a lot so stopping once in a while to share their beauty isn't too bad.

Could have been an XB... passed in a turn and just saw dual lamps and black screen.

Care to ride today? Thinking about the coast or 224 to Detroit lake.

This pic isn't as scenic as yours but.. I love this section on Thompson.
