I have a 2001 X1 with a broken drive belt. I was told it is a 128 tooth. I have a friend who has a HD repair shop and gave me several belts to try out. One is a 132 tooth. Will this work? |

That's gonna be nearly an inch longer. At least. You can *try* it, and might be able to adjust your wheel as far back as possible on the swingarm...my main concern, though, would be tooth pitch. Do the teeth fit your sprockets? |

Well the teeth look like a match. I got the belt for free, so I want to try it. I will check the tooth spacing with a caliper to verify they are the same. Any other input? |

AFAIK All air-cooled Harleys use the same tooth pitch, just different amounts of teeth. |

Ask for a sportster belt. When the bike was first built, they were the same part#. The Buell ones evolved away a bit but I got 45,000 miles from my original 2000 belt. |

Well trying to save some money, but I guess it will be to long. So I have to shell out for a new belt, Bummer |

If you are going to spring for one here is something to think about. Put on a belt from a XB12 firebolt as those belts are built to last the life of your bike. They are thicker then a sportster belt. I put one on my Dad's sportster and it fit just fine so I know it will fit on a tuber. |
