Agreed. However that Being said, I have thoughts that the difference in cost is due to the fact that I believe the chinese are using Drop casts, then machining them down to shape, whereas the american companies are using billet blanks. But really, somehow I doubt any of you are able to squeeze a lever more than the durability of cast. As much as these snobs dont want to admit, expensive levers are all just for looks anyways, so who cares what the actual composition of the metal is? lol.

Here is an OLD SCHOOL RACING tip !!!

Do not tighten the mounting clamps to where the a level will break if you fall down ...

You should be able to move the mounting clamp with light finger pressure up or down ...

After finlly adjusting my belt IAW Buellistics instructions I think that looks like it would be in pretty close position to where it might not be tooo bad, but probably still unnecessary. But to each his own.

It's only too loose if it's jumping teeth on the sprocket!

Blks. I did not need this to keep the belt at the correct tension. Like I said before, 2 reasons for doing the pully, was

A) looks, I aboslutely love the way XB's look with it.

B) to put the swing arm and belt radius length at the same point so the belt never changes tension through the swingarm's arc of motion.

So now I actually can run the belt a a "true" proper tension and not have to worry about it tightening up.

Agreed, Before this i ran the belt WAAAY loose.

Promised Sdecp that I would post up pictures when I got them. So here it is.

This is my $300 ducati monster tail light. Its running I believe 25 red LED's for the tail light, each of which are 5watt rated. yes... 5 WATT. It also has built in turn signals that are bright as hell as well. They were also nice enough to include both a smoked AND clear lens, free of charge.

Let me tell you about this thing. A) its hand made... B) when the brakes are on this bad boy pulls 5.2 amps! thats just as much as my 55watt HID ballast at start up!

On the back of the light is a massive heat sink, and a small computer fan to cool the LED's... This thing also has its own firm ware driver to boost the current up to 72 volts, and have other firm ware features.

It has 3 setting, low, medium, and high. Medium runs the LED's at 30% capacity, and high runs them at 50% capacity. YES! only 50% capacity. The picture i took was at level 3, in complete and full daylight, and the camera still had to adjust the settings down to capture the color.... if you notice the ground looks like i'm taking the picture at night... This thing is BLINDING.

has a special feature as well... if you just tap on the brakes the brake light turns on, however if you slam on the brakes (and some algorithm determines this) the brake lights do a fast flash first then turn on.

This is one bad mother....

That looks like a very fancy tuber version of Robert's (XB Lights) custom made LED tail light for XB's. But that's a lot of amps for LED's!!!

Oh man that tail light is MENTAL!

I'll stick to my boring $0.68 filament bulb.
My first one lasted 60,000 : )

I can't wait til the prices on LEDs come down.
Those Denali ones are so damn cool!

The price kicks me right in the left testicle though : (

unfortunately i had to Not install the tail light today, i just tested them.... as I had to put the bike back to damaged spec from the wreck 2 weeks ago and bring it in to the shop to get the damage estimated for insurance....

Sooo I have tons of goodies to install, and I have to wait 2 days. This is miserable.

Love it. I would like it better with fenders. The handle bars and mirrors are sweet. I kinda liked how the dirty white wrap looked (rat bike) but the silver looks sweet too.

Yea, I did like the dirty white as well, however with the crack in the exhaust it just got really ragged and tore up, and really just soot black. Plus most of it blew off in the wind and the heat was really getting to me now that summer is here.

The color of this is actually more of like a golden green, and its rated to 2000* instead of 1000* like the normal wraps.

Other than this I have a bunch of new awesome stuff being drop shipped to me from around the world now... ;] Major awesome projects in the month ahead.

As for fenders... meh, never been a fan. I like complete minimalism

Just mounted some Shinko Apex tires. 190/55 and 120/70.

Wanted to give the 190/55 a shot before I head out on my road trip to see how much it will raise my gear ratios.

Only rode it for a few minutes, but it rides completely different. The tail end seems to steer more, and do a bit of after the fact drafting. Odd to explain.

Of coarse I didn't change my tires before havign some fun.

is that heat tape you buy from auto zone or something? because that would be a good idea to put on my S1 lightning if thats what it is and does it help alot with the heat blowin on your leg and stuff? let me know because sometimes when im riding in my neighborhood since im new havent taken it out on the real road yet with lots of traffic but my right theigh seems to get hot one time so hot i had to pull over and get off a min, maybe its better when i get some speed higher than 30-40 mph?

For me, in florida, Its an absolute nessecity. And yes, it is the heat wrap, but the nicer stuff that they dont sell at autozone. Buy it at summitracing.com

I purchased the DEI Engineering's Lava wrap, which is good up to 2000*, and the rear header near my leg is double wrapped. I think it looks absolutely great, however after using it, I am 100% certain that Themotec's Copper II wrap is a much superior product.

Fox, try brake cleaner on the Shinko's. People say it gets off the heavy release compound that they use in the moulds. And/or, extra scrub-in time required.

Good tip. I'll try that. However I'm doin ga trip to the beach today, so It probably wont matter by the end of it.

After riding last night I will say I cant tell if its the 190 that seems sluggish, or the new 120/70 that make the bike seem squirrely. The dunlop I had before, though not a great performer, was a real linear feeling tire. Not sure yet. Maybe once I scrub it all off and get comfortable these will have awesome turn it... though i must say I reaaaaaly love what the 190/55 did for my gearing ratio. Really perfrect. Dropped it about 2-300 rpm i would say

Sheesh.... This thing is massssive.

8 pison, 4 brake pads...

and yes... that is in front of a 4 pound bag of trail mix....

Though I must admit, I was initially surprised. I definitely thought the XB wheel was much lighter than actually is...

They discontinued it, the bastards! I wonder if they priced it out of the market place. I have an LED tail light on my Road King but its nothing like that! With white LEDs and an appropriately shaped reflector, you could almost use it for a head light.

Nope. Bernard is still making them. he builds about 5-6 a month. The LED's for the thing alone cost HIM $110. Thats the price for the LED's alone.

He discontinued the SupaNova 490. He hated soldering all 490 of those LED tails. (980)

So what is the model of the unit that he makes? I presume it does not contain quite as many LEDs.I guess I'll reach out to them through the web site and see what they have to say
