Looked up and can't find anything on it. My brake light stays lit the whole time im riding...don't know how long this has been going on. Happen to have my dad behind me and he said something. so when i got home i pulled the wires from the front brake. Nothing still lit. I'm guessing the back brake is engaged constantly i got some more tests to run tomorrow once i get a volt meter. Any ideas or anyone else had this problem??

Actually, try flipping the light bulb. After I broke off and then re-assembled my tail light, I had the same issue until I flipped the bulb.

Basically, your bulb is probably running the "brake light" off of the "running light" circuit. Have you had to do any work back there recently?

Check wiring under the seat for mouse-sabotage.
My uly got some of that this winter.

I believe that the brake/tail lamp is an 1157 which means that the pins are staggered and it cannot be flipped.Put an Ohm meter across the switch and see if it is shot

You can put them in backwards if you try hard enough. DAMHIK.

Sounds like a broken brake light switch, front or rear. What Eshardball said.

I'll put the meter across it today when i get home. i also forgot to mention it's a Seq LED tail. So no flipping of the bulb. that switch sounds more like the problem. i'll check for it. Where about is it?

Your two brake controls, right hand and right foot, both have a switch that is activated when you apply either brake. They are right there in the hand lever assembly by the master cylinder, and then next to the rear brake fluid reservoir - the only part of the brake assembly with wires.

Disconnect the brake switch wires ...

Brake lite goes out, that's the problem being either the switch or a wiring/bulb problem ...

Short across switch, switch is bad(check with a VOM Meter on resistance scale) ...

ELECTRONIC VOM Meters can be bought at Wal-Mart/Harbor Freight for a couple of dollars ...

Other wise problem is between bub and switch ...

Likely electrical, but I know the master cylinder on the front brake of my old sportster started to go and the lever wouldn't return all the way, leaving the light on. Just something to check for as well.

You must LUBE the LEVERS !!!

You must change you brake fluid in your master cylinders once a year !!!

Buellistic: What do you use to lube where the lever meets the plunger on the front master to activate the brake?
