Considering doing the USD fork conversion, but it appears that although forks are available triples from X1/S1/S3 models are hard to come by.

Can the M2 triples be bored out to accept the USD forks?

The USD forks are 41mm and the standard is 39mm, correct?

No, the uppers on the usd tuber forks are 54 mm and the M2 uppers are 43 mm.

Holy crap. Didn't realize that they were that big.

So, the overall casting is the same for both the X1/S1/S3 clamps they just have a smaller diameter hole.

That should make it fairly easy to have them machined.

The stock later model XBs also had a 43mm USD fork upper as well, correct. The latest one was 47mm?

All of the XB models have uppers that taper, and there were enough changes between them all that I can't keep up with them lol. I know that parts of the '03/'04 XB uppers are 54 mm and will fit in the tuber triples.

I had my upper triple machined as my X1 forks came with only the lower triple clamp. Machinist said it wanted to chatter since it's already cut for the clamp/bolts.

I thought about doing XB forks and wheels several years ago, but have decided to keep my tuber stuff stock tuber stuff.

Yeah, I don't want to go all the way to XB.

I like keeping the parts to the same generation.

I was going to keep the M2 bone stock, and well you see how long that lasted. : )

Swapping out to XB is a lot more involved than I want to get into.
