after years or research, I finally found the right one at the right price! :-)
discontinued a while ago, they're like gold by now.
I wanted for my X1 so bad and I finally found it.
now a friend of mine in Italy is getting me the brackets for the calipers, spacers and bearings and 2 sets of new pads.. and if not too expensive, 2 new wave rotors!
I can't wait to have it home!!!!

Looks like a pointless ZTL setup on a wheel that is too heavy because it's still designed to withstand the torsional loads of a standard hub-mounted rotor. The benefit of ZTL brakes isn't in the brakes at all.. it's in the wheel.

That setup is definitely worth some cool points because of its rarity though.

Tij,

Know anyone around the Naples, Italy area that rides Buell's?
I'm heading over there the end of June for a couple of weeks!

I know a guy (thru FB) from Bresica. His name is Piereluigi No idea if that is anywhere near Naples. I think he rides an XB12. he appears to be Buell mad.
This is his e-mail address from FB.
gigilix@libero.it
It may be worth your time to contact him.
Enjoy Italy.

Brescia is almost 500 miles away from Naples! lol
excuse my question, but what are you going to do in Naples??? it's a wonderful city but a tad dangerous if you don't know it and its rules.
by the way, I know a guy who rides a Buell there, plus my best friend lives there.
where exactly are you going?

I may just do that!

If you're referring to Pierluigi Alghisi, I wouldn't call him "Buell crazy"- he just figured out today that Buell got shut down, that Erik started Erik Buell Racing, and that he has introduced the 1190RS. : p

Amazing . . with MOST Buells being sold outside the United States how many folks aboard were unaware of events at Buell.

I couldn't figure it out until a couple of them explained to me that they didn't have any such thing as B.R.A.G, no "Road Ahead", no FUELL or any other communication or "official" events.

Nice to see the good word and excitement spreading.

As one told me . . "spare me the ugly details, just get us some new bikes on the way".

Roger that.

PM wheels are gone Myron,
sold them overseas for $1200!!!! :-)
now I'm running the stock wheels, so this is the perfect match for the rear.
I will powder coat the front as well to match the orange of the frame and I have a friend in Italy who's already taking care of the brackets, a couple of sets of pads and I wanna see if I can buy the wave rotors as well.
otherwise I'll keep those for now...

ma falla finita!

awesome setup... you've been really lucky!

Court,

our "European Buell Internet Network" (lol) works fine.. our 3 communities in Italy have many things in common: friendly and lovely insane people with the same passion. We only choose which community to join, but if anyone wants to join a trip, or need some help.. well everyone is a brother.

this is what I mean:

And I suppose that the link between Buell & Italy is kinda strong.
Anyone noticed the map on the cover of "Anthem"?

Cortona, Val di Chiana - Tuscany. Driving a Buell in Vaa di Chiana is not part of the experience, is THE experience. CArving through corners, than a good, strong red red wine and a huge "Fiorentina" steak. That's why we love Buells so much. Our territory is written for Buells!

BTW, on 4/23-25 we'll ride in Provence, and there we'll meet up with the French Buellers. At least 60 bikes.

Brinnutz,

I'm from Rome. send me a Pm if you have a free afternoon to spend in the eternal city.

you realize that posting the price you got for the PM wheels will get a bunch of people posting on how you raped someone

of course I say to all the naysayers

let them fire away

good for you and its cool that you have an overseas outlet for purchases and sales. it allows your Buells to be that much more different, and allows you access to what others have not even seen or understand.

I on the other hand have to change my color options. it seems that the flat textured black that I have done since 2005 is what some around S. Fla now want to/or already have done. I should have never told them my method......

You are certainly correct about that. Erik and I both have Tribu6800 sweatshirts we wear and I love watching their website.

Amazing folks, amazing bikes and amazing time. Between the Italians, the Japanese and the Brazilians . . there are some REALLY passionate Buell groups around the world and the photos from their various ride are just off the charts gorgeous.

I'm going to have to get back over to the Tribu6800 site . . . I miss that group and I'm sure they miss kidding me about my translated Italian. I have to take the threads to Vickie's Aunt (she's 88 and came here from Nocera Terinese when she was about 6) to have some of them read.

I used to call Giorgio from time to time to catch up on things . . . the group is amazing.

If I recall the Devilstars are more in the South, down perhaps in the province of Catanzaro in the Calabria area?

We actually had made arrangements to go and had hired a gorgeous Villa for 3 weeks. That was the year my sister became ill and we couldn't go. She passed away while our friends were in Italy. That's one that's on my list but with my wife's family . . (a couple of them still own homes there) I'm sure it's going to be more than a week long trip. Frankly, I'd love to come spend like 3 or 4 weeks sometime . . . it, from the books I've read, is a country that simply is gorgeous from North to South and from East to West.

I think Erik and I may make one "foreign excursion" in the next year . . Italy is not in the cards yet but it'd sure be an easy sell at home!

: )

Palmer,

That would be outstanding. I was in Italy years ago, in Sicily for several months...
I am looking forward to this trip, I'd love to meet up with Buellers over there! I plan on taking the train up to Pisa one weekend to see a buddy who lives up there, but that would be a whole weekend thing.

I remember when Erik joined facebook. The first profile picture he had was the one with the tribu6800 guys at the "Just Cavalli" event.

http://www.motoblog.it/post/5048/esclusivo-festa-b uell-al-just-cavalli

that's Milan Fashion... and good marketing!

Anyway we miss you in our forum. You've been a window on this exotic and beautiful world, I remember some of the news about the fortcoming 1125.
I think you mean Giorgio the now benelli rider.. he's no longer a bueller! and, yes, tribu6800 is an amazing group. But i like people with my same passion, not groups. That's why Devilstars is amazing too! and they are from northern Italy as well, in the calabria/catanzaro area there aren't a lot of buellers.
In italy the motorcycle - and cars and motors too - culture has is base in the northern area. You know, ferrari, ducati, guzzi, bimota, laverda, mv agusta lamborghini, ferrari.. everything with an engine comes from the northern area.
Italy is amazing from every point of view and most of the foreigners love it probably more than what italians do.

Both you and Erik are our guest in Italy. Erik is kinda suoerstar over the ocean.. maybe he's not feeling like dunno, keith richards, but here, for all of us is known as "The Uncle". One of our family, and he has to join us somewhere out in time. :-) just join us! carving, eating and drinking... what else.

Brinnutz,

Naples and Pisa are a little far from Rome for a day ride, but if you want to join me/us in Rome for a good dinner.. you're welcome!

no Palmer,
Court meant Giorgio XB (Giorgino nostro!), not Wolf.
by the way, Brin, get to me when the time of your trip is approaching and I'll get you in touch with someone over there of our group who will be more than happy to assist you and escort you through the wonderful italian roads.
Palmer is gay, don't even listen to him, he just want to make out with you! lol
Torq,
I didn't rip-off anyone, as he offered me that money to sell him my wheels.
they're not anywhere around to be found those wheel and they're pretty precious.
so is for the tube frame Buells. as I said several times, someone decided to completely destroy the market here, HD in the first place when they decided to get rid of the bikes they had remain in stock after the closure of the Buell factory.
anywhere else around the globe, Buell still keeps its price and gets its unicity recognized. ; )

I wish I had a bike to ride while over there...But I won't even have a rental car! =(
Anyways, I'll hit you up either here or on Facebook...one of the two, the closer it approaches. I'll arrive the last weekend of June.
I definitely want to go out and have some fun while I'm there if I get some time (have to work while I'm there)...

The Italian Job,

I wasn't saying that you ripped anyone off, I was only attempting to prepare you for those who only remember the "blowout sale" prices and how inexpensive everything sold. just mention firebolt select seats, or XB race pipes and what they are selling for to see what I mean. seems people here (not everyone, but mainly in the US) seem to think that the now unobtainium parts that were once readily available and/or heavily discounted after the "shutdown" should still be low cost items. supply and demand theories seem to escape them. I wonder how many may have bit their tongues after seeing my remark.

I am always glad to see what you come up with, and although it may not always be my personal taste (hell my style is completely opposite of yours), I truly appreciate the effort and outcome. some will question your use of parts like this double ZTL setup(which I think looks cool as hell) but how many of them have won a Rats Hole show with their Buells. if you have to explain, they wouldn't understand.

are you riding Thursday night...I'm not sure which show/meet I want to attend...I could meet up with you and we could just ride. I haven't been on South Beach in a while.
